Office of the Legislative Auditor General
The Office of the Legislative Auditor General’s (OLAG) mission is to Audit, Lead, Achieve, and to
Help Organizations Improve. Through performance audits, OLAG provides independent, in-depth

reliable, relevant, and actionable information on publicly funded organizations that help
legislators and other decision makers: improve programs, reduce costs, and promote accountability.
With more than 50 years of experience, OLAG strives to be the gold standard in performance auditing
and best practices for good government.
The Utah Constitution establishes OLAG and authorizes it to audit funds, functions, and accounts in any branch, department, agency, or political subdivision. The Legislative Audit Subcommittee is chaired by the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate and includes the majority and minority leaders from both chambers.
